Soleils by Amy at The Peach Tree

Amy lives up to her name... She is truly a peach! I met her early on in my life on Etsy and we have been friends ever since. She has a beautiful shop featuring timeless jewelry and can often be spotted on the front page at Etsy. I'm her watch dog of sorts... her fabulous jewels appear on the front page and I quickly let her know :) Currently residing in Brooklyn, Amy is originally from Wisconsin which gives us an extra special bond. I will interview her soon so be on the look out!

Amy is sponsoring a Giveaway at Sandier Pastures where you can enter to win these lovely earrings - aren't they gorgeous?!? Check it out! You can also visit Amy at her Etsy shop The Peach Tree and her blog The Peach Tree Brooklyn.

Spring Basket - Leather and Fabric Collage Bracelet

As a shabby chic yet rustic loving girl at heart, my latest and current favorite new creations are my leather collage bracelet cuffs. Fashioned from leather and a fun, fresh assortment of vintage treasures, each one is a joy to create and inspires another! I posted this one last night. It has a very cool basket weave leather for the base, a unique pink mother of pearl closure button and a variety of spring goodies as the centerpiece. Enjoy!

Meet Laurie at Gifts and Talents

I met Laurie through Etsy when I was looking for a fun baby shower favor to include in a goodie bag with a vintage, shabby chic look. She instantly ran with my ideas, vague as they were, and came up with darling clips - personalized and everything! She also did custom clipboards for my daughters teachers at Christmas. She's so great to work with... check her out!

1) What is your craft and what led to you to take it up?

ART,ART,ART... I love doing any kind of art, from drawing, painting, jewelry and my most favorite love is decoupage. I am always thinking of ways to take normal every day things and make them into art.

2) What part of your work do you enjoy the most?

Custom Orders and Decoupage. I Love it when customers describe in a convo what they have in mind and making it a reality for them.

3) What part of your work is the hardest?

Packing after Friday, Saturday and Sunday Sales!

4) A top ten list of your favorites

...handmade possession...

A stained glass window that has a crack in one of the pieces of glass, strange, huh?

...item in your shop...

It's not currently in my shop, but in my sold Items, the Owl Clothespin Clips.

...item in your favorites list...

I have so many favorites, it is hard to pin point just one. There are oh so many Talented Artists here on Etsy!

"Retro Bird Feed" by BrodyandMa

...Etsy purchase...

Do trades Count? I love the journal (that I gave to my Mom) that I traded with yours truly - WhimsyHouse.

...Etsy shop...

MixedMediaBySRC (she's my Mom)!

"Gorgeous Teal Pendant" by MixedMediabySRC

...blog or website...

I have other sites, but I really focus all of my energy on my Etsy shop,
http://GiftsAndTalents.etsy.com.

...source of inspiration...

Everyday things I see, then my imagination takes over. Like most artist, I can already see the finished product before I start.

...item you've sold...

Decoupaged Recipe Boxes, Clothespin Clips and Switch Plate Covers

...piece of advice...

I was once told by a customer to never under-value my art, and that I wasn't charging enough for shipping. She was right about both!

...rule to break...

I don't do my decoupage in the traditional way.

She chose a red rose brooch for her new black coat.
A good choice since she'll be wearing it for a few more months...

A Smile Everytime

"Sisters" Little Mini Quilt by Little Quilts

I know, with 100% certainty, that I will feel happy when I check in at Shalece's Etsy site Little Quilts. This woman is amazing! I want EVERY SINGLE ONE of her pieces, a dilemma that has left me without a single one since I simply can't choose. I'm going to have to just point with my eyes close someday and order one up! She is incredibly funny as well. You'll get a chuckle from this description of the above "Sisters" quilt - I even had to read it to my husband since I laughed out loud when I read it. Enjoy!

"I was the youngest of six kids and I always wished I had a little sister to love and dress up and push around in a stroller. My older sister assured me that having a little sister was anything but fun, she said “it’s like having a dog with no legs permanently tied to your waist and you have to drag it everywhere you go”. All that did was make me really want a dog! And if I could get one with no legs, all the better, it would be easier to dress and would never run away."

I hope you're smiling too!
